Split Shift - Maintenance Technician

Sonstegard Foods Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our egg processing facility in Sheldon, IA. This is a split shift position, typically starting at 3:00 PM. This position works closely with Management, Production, and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment, utilities, and building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems

  • Maintain CIP systems (pumps, valves, controllers)

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime

  • Complete daily documentation (boiler testing, water usage, maintenance logs)

  • Follow all safety, GMP, and SQF food safety standards

Qualifications

  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

  • Basic computer skills (preventive maintenance software)

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

  • Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures

  • Manufacturing or food processing experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Lift 50–100 lbs

  • Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in industrial environments
