Sonstegard Foods Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our egg processing facility in Sheldon, IA. This is a split shift position, typically starting at 3:00 PM. This position works closely with Management, Production, and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment, utilities, and building systems operate safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems
Maintain CIP systems (pumps, valves, controllers)
Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
Complete daily documentation (boiler testing, water usage, maintenance logs)
Follow all safety, GMP, and SQF food safety standards
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Basic computer skills (preventive maintenance software)
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures
Manufacturing or food processing experience preferred
Lift 50–100 lbs
Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in industrial environments
